The ideal underlay mat for DESIGNline CONNECT

The skid-proof acoustic mat ComfortTEC, based on  polyurethane, is an underlay material especially developed for the use  under the flooring DESIGNline CONNECT.

Areas of application:

• Providing secure and smooth ways over uneven areas in the underground, e.g. for the laying of ceramic tiles, hardwood floors etc. ( Regarding the joints of tiles please note the hollow space maximum : width 5mm – depth 2mm )*

1. Some basics

 The laying of ComfortTec is subject to common standard norms, guidelines and relevant references which apply for resilient floorings in the respective countries and Germany in particular.

2. General Terms for building sites*

Undergrounds must be lastingly dry, even, clean, load-carrying, free off  cracks, and traction proof as well as pressure proof. When laying begins undergrounds and plastered areas must be dry !

• Concrete screeds < 2, 0% ( calcium carbide method )
• Calcium sulfate screeds < 0, 5% CM
• Calcium sulfate flow-screeds <0, 3% CM

3. Laying on existing floorings*

Textile floorings of all kinds must be removed beforehand!

ComfortTEC can be laid on existing floorings such as ceramic tiles, linoleum, pvc, laminates, parquet and planks that are even as well as undergrounds with installed warm water underfloor heatings. When laying tiles please note the hollow space maximum : width : 5mm and a maximal depth of joints of 2mm. The preparation of all undergrounds are to be carried out expertly and appropriately and all required auxiliary materials  must be qualified accordingly.

4. Room climate ratios:

• Air temperature in the room > 18° C
• Floor temperature > 18° C
• Relative humidity < 75% ( for calcium sulfate flow-screed < 65% )

5. Packing

When packed, special care must be taken that ComfortTEC is not damaged by crushing or that edges suffer any damage.

6. Trimming and laying  of the lanes

ComfortTEC  can be cut with a cutter knife. Please lay the single lanes end on end, foil-side facing up, with an angle of ca. 90° against the later direction of  the laying of DESIGNline CONNECT. It is not necessary to fasten the lanes with each other or to fixate them to the underground ! After separating the foil start with the laying of DESIGNline CONNECT according to manufacturer´s recommendation. ComfortTEC  may not be plastered !

7. Warranty

The purpose of this recommendation regarding the laying results from our testings and experiences and to inform and advise you to the best of our knowledge. We warrant for our product, but due to the numerous factors involved, which are beyond our control, e g possibility of usage, storage and processing capacities on site etc, we cannot, however, take over warranty for the final result of the laying in the individual case.
We therefore recommend to carry out sufficient self tests regardless.
