Recommendation for installation DESIGNline
The basics
Make sure to verify the flawless condition of the flooring delivered before installation. No complaints can subsequently be accepted for flooring that has been cut to size or installed. For installing DESIGNline® the relevant standards, guidelines and references shall be observed that apply for installing resilient floorings in the countries involved.
Decide on the desired flooring pattern before starting the installation, e.g. parallel or diagonal. In order to reach the best result of installation tighten an installation cross in the room by using a cord.
Subfloor conditions
Subfloors must always be lastingly dry, level, clean, stable, free of cracks and resistant to tensile stresses and pressure. At the time of installation, subfloors and levelled surfaces must be dry. Old floorings of any kind must be removed beforehand! The subfloor should be prepared with all due care and professionalism and the requisite process materials must be appropriately suitable. DESIGNline® can be installed on floors with warm-water underfloor heating. The installation on floors with electrical underfloor heating cannot be recommended.
Indoor climate conditions
DESIGNline® needs to be acclimatized: The flooring shall be stored in the location where the floor is going to be installed for at least 24 hours at ³ 18°C. The air humidity should not exceed 75%, with calcium sulphate free-flowing screed at a maximum of 65%! The subfloor temperature should exceed 15°C.
Installation
DESIGNline® should always be glued on the entire surface. We recommend to use adhesives low in emission, free of solvents including semi volatile organic compounds, e.g. EC1 adhesives or similar. Please note the manufacturer’s instructions! The individual tiles should not be pressed against one another but should be installed with only gentle pressure! Immediately after installation, the flooring shall be rolled using an appropriate roller (at least 50 kg). Uniformity of colour of the flooring is only guaranteed for deliveries of one production batch.
